In an unprecedented move, Renault ended 2011 by announcing major changes to its UK line-up. The French manufacturer will be relying heavily on van sales and conversions over the coming years, as it is dropping a host of non-profitable car models and changing the focus within its dealers.
Crackdown on disabled parking abuse
Transport Minister Norman Baker has unveiled new measures to crack down on drivers who abuse the disabled parking system – including a new Blue Badge design said to be harder to forge. They came into force on 1 January.

Highways contractor Carillion has invested in another ten double-drive Axor 2629s, which were supplied by Wolverhampton dealer Midlands Truck & Van. The new Mercedes-Benz gritters will help keep traffic on the M40 flowing smoothly and safely.
Beware new London LEZ
The new Low Emission Zone requirements for London come into effect on 3 January – and the Freight Transport Association is advising operators of Y-registration (and some 51 plate) vans to keep out of London to avoid costly charges and fines.
