Ten millionth commercial vehicle rolls off production line in Hannover

Sixty-three years after the production of commercial vehicles began at the Hannover-Stöcken plant, Volkswagen are celebrating the ten millionth vehicle to come off the production line.

The milestone vehicle, a T6 Caravelle, is being donated to the Hannover Auf Der Bult Children’s Hospital Foundation, making it possible for the hospital to take patients on excursions.

Dr Thomas Sedran, chairman of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brand board of management, said: “Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has been a part of the city for 63 years. I am therefore delighted that our ten millionth vehicle is also going to be on the roads of Hannover in the future, helping with the important work of the city’s children’s hospital.”

Thomas Hahlbohm, director of the Hannover plant, added: “Our workforce does this job with pride, passion and loving attention to detail. I thank the men and women of our team for that with all my heart.”
