Northgate extends its EV offering

Northgate Vehicle Hire has extended its electric offering with a fleet of 25 Nissan e-NV200 Accenta vans.

The new fleet joins the company’s existing electric vehicle (EV) line-up, which includes a range of full-electric and 24 hybrid vehicles.

The pure-electric Nissan e-NV200 Accenta vans feature a 40kWh battery, delivering up to 60% additional range. As the van produces zero emissions, Northgate says it is an ideal choice for businesses operating in London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) which now penalises all pre-Euro 6 diesel vans (and pre-Euro 4 petrol vans) that enter the capital with a £12.50 fee.

Tim Bailey, fleet director at Northgate Vehicle Hire, said: “We are delighted to be increasing our fleet of electric vans available on the general rental fleet for a wider range of customers to experience. Our customers are coming under increasing pressure to adopt more environmentally-friendly vehicles and electric vans are often the best choice.

“By making the switch to vehicle hire, businesses can add less-polluting vans and EVs to their fleets immediately without the substantial financial outlays. We also offer to buy our customers’ old vans and rent them newer models, so that they can reduce their environmental footprint and invest the freed-up capital in business growth.”

For businesses affected by London’s ULEZ who are eligible for the Transport for London scrappage scheme, Northgate also offers a discount on 12 months+ van hires.
