Ford launches scrappage scheme

Ford has launched a new scrappage scheme to take older, less fuel-efficient vehicles off UK roads, replacing them with new Ford models.

“Our last Ford scrappage scheme saw 25,500 customers trade-in their older vehicles for Ford models equipped with our latest emissions and fuel-efficiency technologies, contributing to reducing CO2 and other emissions on UK roads. We expect our new Ford scrappage scheme to also have a positive impact on the environment.” said Andy Barratt, managing director, Ford of Britain.

The Ford scrappage scheme enables customers to save £2,000 (excluding VAT) on selected Ford commercial vehicles when they take their existing vehicle to a Ford dealership. The Ford dealership will then arrange for the vehicle to be scrapped at an Authorised Treatment Facility and a Certificate of Destruction issued.

To be eligible for the scrappage discount, customers must order their new Ford vehicle between July 1, 2019, and September 30, 2019, and have their vehicles registered between July 1, 2019 and March 31, 2020.

Any make of commercial vehicle is eligible for the Ford scrappage scheme provided it was registered on or before December 31, 2012, and must have been owned by the customer for 90 days or more before scrapping.

The scrappage saving can then be used against the purchase of a new Ford commercial vehicle (excluding Transit Connect and Ranger Raptor).
