Availability issues are causing problems for van users working within the growing number of Clean Air Zones across the UK. With the Bath CAZ in place and Birmingham and Bristol set to follow, plus the enhanced London ULEZ, fleet software specialist FleetCheck is warning that businesses are only now realising that they need to have sufficient Euro 6 vans available.

“While plans for CAZs have been known about in most areas for some time, many were delayed during the pandemic and given that the majority of fleets have spent the last year fire-fighting, the subject seems to have slipped off the agenda,” said FleetCheck managing director Peter Golding.

“Some companies need to buy new vehicles but are finding that delays in new van deliveries are hampering their efforts. Either the vehicles that they want are on long lead times, six months is not unusual at the moment, or they are having to buy what they can get.”
