Smart charging provider Ohme claims that companies should electrify their van fleets to reduce running costs. With sales of e-LCVs growing rapidly, up 65% on 2021, there is a much wider choice of vehicles available to buyers. According to Ohme, the latest figures from the Department for Transport show that average van mileage is around 13,000 miles a year, with more than half of those vehicle remaining local and within 15 miles of base.

Reduce  running costs

“At a time when everyone’s focus is on the high fuel prices at the pumps, companies switching their van fleets towards electric is an easy and obvious way to considerably reduce their running costs,” said Peter McDonald, director of mobility at Ohme.

“Ohme’s Home Pro smart charger can help companies to considerably reduce their running costs for those charging on a smart tariff, but also help make them more sustainable by charging when renewable energy generation on the grid is at its highest.”
