Renault Trucks, which currently markets the Renault Master heavy van under its Red Edition brand, is to sell the smaller Trafic van in a similar way. As with the larger model, the Trafic Red Edition will be available in a wide range of body styles, including short and long wheelbases, with low and high roof options. There will also be double cabs in L1 and L2 variants, a platform cab and a floor cab on the L2 chassis for a range of conversions.

There will be 2.8 and 3.1-tonne gross weights and load volumes in the panel vans will stretch to 8.9m3. Maximum payload is around 1,300kg and the vans can tow up to 2.5 tonnes. However, as with Master, expect the truck business to offer some unusual conversions, from its wide network of specialist body builders.

There will be four engine outputs on offer, from 110-170hp from the 2.0-litre diesel engine and Renault Trucks is making the automatic transmission standard, though a manual gearbox will be offered as an option. There will be a limited-time launch offer available until the end of the year, to include the vehicle, a Start & Drive maintenance contract and financing.
